A significant initiative has been undertaken in Shivhar district to ensure the safety of daughters and make them aware of their legal rights. A 'legal awareness workshop' was organized at Narwara High School, where girl students were provided with detailed information about the POCSO Act, prevention of cyber crimes, and various helpline numbers. The primary objective of this program was to empower students and equip them with the necessary knowledge to protect themselves from any form of exploitation or harassment.

During the workshop, experts explained the provisions of the POCSO Act in simple language, covering legal procedures and penalties related to child sexual abuse. Students were informed about how they can report any untoward incident and which authorities they should contact. Additionally, in light of increasing cybercrime cases, students were made aware of the importance of online safety. They were taught about safe use of social media, avoiding phishing scams, and keeping their personal information confidential.

Sensitive topics like 'good touch' and 'bad touch' were also discussed in this legal workshop, enabling students to understand the difference in physical touch and identify individuals with ill intentions. They were taught how to react in such situations and whom to seek help from immediately. Information about various government helpline numbers, such as Child Helpline and Women's Helpline, was also shared, so they could avail these services when needed.

School management and local administration have appreciated this initiative, as it will not only legally empower the students but also help them continue their education in a safe and fearless environment.
