In a tragic road accident in Siwan district, an e-rickshaw (toto) driver died on the spot, and one passenger was seriously injured. The incident occurred on Tuesday near Darshani (Dahakni) village in the Darauli police station area on the Siwan-Chhapra main road, NH-531. An unidentified speeding dumper collided forcefully with the toto, which was carrying passengers.

The collision was so severe that the toto was completely wrecked. After the accident, the dumper driver fled the scene with the vehicle. The deceased has been identified as Vikas Kumar alias Timmal, a resident of Pipra village, who supported his family by driving the toto. Gautam Ram, a resident of Dumri village who was a passenger in the toto, was seriously injured and has been referred to Siwan Sadar Hospital after receiving first aid.

The news of Vikas's death has cast a pall of gloom over Pipra village. He is survived by his wife, Suja Kumari, and a two-year-old daughter, Sakshi. His family is distraught, and villagers have demanded that the administration provide adequate compensation to the victim's family and arrest the dumper driver responsible for the accident. Darauli Station House Officer Vikas Kumar stated that the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Police are scanning CCTV footage from around the accident site and gathering information from eyewitnesses to identify the absconding dumper. The search for the dumper and its driver is ongoing.
