बिहार के सीवान जिले में पुलिस ने एक बड़े जाली नोट बनाने वाले गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ किया है। इस मामले में पुलिस ने एक महिला, उसके पति और भाई को गिरफ्तार किया है। इनके पास से कुल 5 लाख 45 हजार रुपये के नकली भारतीय नोट बरामद किए गए हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, जाली नोट छापने के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले प्रिंटर, अन्य उपकरण और 88 हजार रुपये की नकदी भी जब्त की गई है।
पुलिस को गुप्त सूचना मिली थी कि सीवान में एक संगठित गिरोह जाली नोट बनाने और उन्हें बाजार में चलाने का काम कर रहा है। सूचना के आधार पर पुलिस ने एक विशेष टीम का गठन किया और त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए संदिग्ध ठिकानों पर छापेमारी की। छापेमारी के दौरान, पुलिस ने मौके से महिला, उसके पति और भाई को रंगे हाथों पकड़ा। तीनों आरोपी मिलकर इस पूरे गोरखधंधे को अंजाम दे रहे थे।
बरामद किए गए नकली नोटों में 500 रुपये और 200 रुपये के नोट शामिल हैं, जो देखने में काफी हद तक असली जैसे प्रतीत होते थे। पुलिस का मानना है कि यह गिरोह लंबे समय से इस अवैध गतिविधि में संलिप्त था और स्थानीय बाजारों में इन जाली नोटों का प्रचलन कर रहा था। आरोपियों से पूछताछ की जा रही है ताकि गिरोह के अन्य सदस्यों और उनके नेटवर्क का पता लगाया जा सके। पुलिस इस बात की भी जांच कर रही है कि इन जाली नोटों का स्रोत क्या था और ये कहां-कहां वितरित किए जा चुके हैं। इस कार्रवाई से जाली नोट के कारोबार पर एक बड़ी चोट पहुँची है और पुलिस प्रशासन ने आम जनता से अपील की है कि वे किसी भी संदिग्ध नोट के प्रति सतर्क रहें और तुरंत पुलिस को सूचित करें।
