Barbigha, Hindustan Correspondent. Students at SKR College in Barbigha largely boycotted the ongoing postgraduate (PG) examinations on Wednesday. Students, whose examination center from RD College was set up at SKR College, created a ruckus on the college campus, chanted slogans against the principal, and also burned an effigy of a teacher.

The protesting students allege that teachers at SKR College discriminate against them, assault them, use abusive language, and threaten to expel them from the examination without reason. Frustrated by this behavior, they decided to boycott the exams.

However, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, the principal of the college, completely rejected these allegations. He clarified that it is the administration's responsibility to conduct examinations free of malpractice. According to the principal, some students were seeking permission to cheat in the exams and became agitated when teachers enforced strict rules. He stated that on Tuesday, two students were caught cheating, immediately expelled, and handed over to the police. They were later released from the police station after signing a bond. The principal alleged that due to this resentment, some students, instigated by certain student council leaders, deliberately boycotted the examination.

The boycott had a significant impact. On Wednesday, 83 students were absent in the first shift, with only 6 appearing for the exam. In the second shift, 105 students were absent, and only 14 appeared. The principal clarified that the final decision regarding the examination results of the students who boycotted the exam would now be taken by the university administration.
