स्थानीय ग्रामीणों ने बताया कि टिकठी एक बड़ी पंचायत है और यहां की आबादी भी काफी ज्यादा है। ऐसे में एक पूर्ण विकसित स्वास्थ्य केंद्र का होना बेहद आवश्यक है। उनका कहना है कि जब भी कोई आपात स्थिति आती है, जैसे कि किसी को अचानक कोई बीमारी हो जाए या दुर्घटना हो जाए, तो उन्हें तुरंत चिकित्सा सहायता नहीं मिल पाती है। कई बार तो मरीज को अस्पताल ले जाते समय ही उसकी स्थिति और बिगड़ जाती है। महिलाओं और बच्चों के स्वास्थ्य के लिए भी यह एक गंभीर समस्या है। गर्भवती महिलाओं को प्रसव के लिए भी काफी दूर जाना पड़ता है, जिससे जच्चा-बच्चा दोनों की जान को खतरा बना रहता है।
जनप्रतिनिधियों ने भी इस मांग का समर्थन करते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने कई बार इस मुद्दे को संबंधित अधिकारियों और सरकार के सामने उठाया है। उनका तर्क है कि स्वास्थ्य केंद्र के निर्माण से न केवल टिकठी बल्कि आसपास के कई अन्य गांवों जैसे कि मिश्रौली, पुरवा, रामपुर और चिलहर के लोगों को भी सीधा लाभ मिलेगा। इससे प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तक पहुंच बढ़ेगी, मातृ-शिशु मृत्यु दर में कमी आएगी और सामान्य बीमारियों के लिए लोगों को दूर नहीं जाना पड़ेगा। उन्होंने सरकार से इस दिशा में जल्द से जल्द कदम उठाने और टिकठी में एक आधुनिक सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र का निर्माण सुनिश्चित करने की अपील की है ताकि स्थानीय लोगों को बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं मिल सकें।
