A 23-year-old youth, Akhilesh Kumar, died in a tragic road accident in Behari, under the Singheshwar police station area of Madhepura district, on Sunday late night. Akhilesh was returning to Singheshwar on his bike after attending a fair when his motorcycle collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in Behari.

The collision was severe, leaving Akhilesh critically injured. The auto driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. The deceased has been identified as Akhilesh Kumar, son of Prabhu Mandal, a resident of Ward No. 6, Behari Barabanna. Locals gathered at the accident site and informed the police.

Singheshwar Station House Officer Roshan Kumar and Sub-Inspector Ravishankar Kumar promptly arrived. They arranged for Akhilesh to be rushed to a private medical college, where doctors declared him brought dead after examination. Police have seized the auto involved in the accident and taken it to the police station. Efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding auto driver. After completing legal formalities, the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Akhilesh's untimely death has plunged his family and the entire village into shock. He was one of five siblings, older than his younger sister. Police are investigating the incident and actively searching for the फरार auto driver.
