A major incident of crude oil theft has been reported from the Jhajha police station area in Jamui district, where thieves cleverly installed a valve on an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) pipeline to siphon off oil. Upon receiving information about the incident, police and IOCL officials immediately rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.

According to available information, the IOCL pipeline, used for transporting crude oil, passes through the Jhajha region. The thieves targeted this pipeline and installed a valve at an undisclosed location, through which they were attempting to extract crude oil. It is not yet clear how much oil the thieves managed to steal or how long this operation had been ongoing.

Upon notification, Jhajha police promptly took action. Police personnel arrived at the scene and inspected the area. Simultaneously, IOCL's technical team also reached the site and examined the valve installed on the pipeline. Officials suspect that this could be the work of a large, organized gang specializing in such thefts, as it requires specialized equipment and technical knowledge.

Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unknown thieves and have commenced an investigation. They are scanning CCTV footage from surrounding areas and questioning local residents to gather clues. IOCL officials are also conducting their internal inquiry to prevent similar incidents in the future. The theft is estimated to have caused losses worth millions of rupees to IOCL. Both the police and IOCL are taking this matter seriously and are working to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible.
