IPS Officer's Wife Meets DGP After Protest, Demands Reunion With Family and Daughter
Pooja, wife of Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Bhanu Pratap, staged a protest outside the Police Headquarters, demanding to reunite with her family and meet her daughter. Following the demonstration, she met with the Director General of Police (DGP) to present her case and appeal for her family's preservation. Pooja stated her desire to live with her husband and daughter.
According to Pooja, her husband has filed a divorce petition in court and has stopped providing her financial support since September. She alleged that she is being accused of taking documents and misconduct, which has deeply distressed her. Pooja recounted that after a prolonged protest at the Police Headquarters, she was able to meet the DGP. However, she claimed that during the meeting, officials appeared to side with her husband. Pooja seeks a clear reason for the divorce petition and is striving to resume her family life.
Pooja also mentioned that she has not spoken to her daughter for about a month and a half since coming to Patna. She stated that while residing in Khagaria, her daughter was separated from her under the pretext of taking her to a mall. Now, she is being advised to seek court custody to communicate with her own daughter. Pooja asserted that her right to her daughter is equal to her husband's. She clarified that she does not seek any financial benefits but only wishes to live with her family and daughter. Expressing faith in her husband, she affirmed that she would continue her legal fight for her rights.
