In a significant crackdown, the Jamui district police have arrested notorious sand mafia kingpin Mantoo Yadav. The arrest was made following a raid at Yadav's residence in the Chandradeep police station area. Police had received intelligence that Yadav was hoarding illegal weapons and was actively involved in illicit sand mining operations.

During the raid, authorities recovered one rifle, one pistol, and 11 live cartridges of various bores from Yadav's house. The seizure of these weapons further strengthens the police's case against the sand mafia. The Superintendent of Police (SP) confirmed the arrest, stating that Mantoo Yadav has a long criminal history with multiple cases registered against him across various police stations. These cases include charges of extortion, assault, illegal mining, and attempted murder.

The SP emphasized that Yadav's arrest will help curb illegal sand mining and associated crimes in Jamui district. He also informed that further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other associates and members of Yadav's gang. Police believe this arrest will significantly disrupt the illegal sand trade and bolster law and order in the district, marking a major success for the local police force.
