The Health Department has expressed serious concern over the empty state of the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) in Jamui district. Directives have been issued to the in-charge medical officers of all Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Community Health Centers (CHCs), and Referral Hospitals in the district to identify severely acute malnourished (SAM) children in their respective areas and admit them immediately to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center. The department has clarified that each center has been given a target of admitting at least 20 children to ensure their proper treatment and nutrition.
According to data released by the Health Department, malnutrition remains a major problem in the district, especially in rural and deprived areas.
