A significant clash erupted between two groups of police personnel over duty assignments at the Jhajha Railway Police Station premises in Jamui on Tuesday. The incident resulted in injuries to seven police personnel, including railway station clerk Abhishek Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Premsagar Tiwari, and four women home guards: Rani Kumari, Shivani Kumari, Pooja Kumari, and Muskan Kumari. Following the altercation, chaos spread from the police station compound to the platform, attracting a crowd of passengers. All injured parties, except Premsagar Tiwari, sought medical treatment at a hospital.

The dispute reportedly began with an argument between male and female police personnel regarding duty irregularities. Male officers alleged that woman home guard Shivani Kumari was being arbitrary in her duties, and when clerk Abhishek Kumar objected, the argument escalated into a physical fight.

Conversely, woman home guard Shivani Kumari leveled serious accusations against the male officers. She stated that home guard jawans are instructed to carry rifles while on duty. According to Shivani Kumari, when she expressed difficulty carrying a weapon while on duty at the platform or office, Abhishek Kumar allegedly abused her. Subsequently, Premsagar Tiwari reportedly assaulted Rani Kumari. Shivani also claimed that male police officers pointed a pistol at her, leading to the physical confrontation. However, other male and female police personnel present at the station denied the allegation of a pistol threat, attributing the primary cause of the dispute to a verbal altercation over duty.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Railway Station House Officer Madhusudan Paswan arrived at the scene. He spoke with both parties to gather information about the incident. The SHO stated that there was a verbal disagreement regarding duty but denied any physical altercation.
