Two separate snakebite incidents were reported on Saturday in Beldaur block, Khagaria district, where a young man and a teenage girl were bitten by venomous snakes. Prompt action by their families and timely arrival at the Community Health Center (CHC) Beldaur ensured that both lives were saved. After receiving primary treatment, their conditions stabilized, and they were sent home.

The first incident occurred in Saraswati Nagar, under Itmadi Panchayat, Beldaur police station area. S. Kumar, a young man, was returning home by bike when a venomous snake bit his leg during a brief stop. His family immediately took him to CHC Beldaur, where doctors provided the necessary treatment.

The second incident took place in Dighaun village, Beldaur block. A teenage girl named Asha Kumari was returning home from the cattle shed when she was bitten by a snake on the way. Her family promptly rushed her to CHC Beldaur, where her condition became stable after treatment.

Doctors have urged people to exercise extreme caution during the rainy season due to the increasing number of snakebite incidents. According to health experts, during monsoon, snakes emerge from their burrows due to waterlogging and seek refuge in open areas, fields, near homes, and in bushes. Farmers, cattle herders, and villagers need to be particularly vigilant, especially when moving at night or entering dense bushes.

Doctors at CHC Beldaur advised against resorting to traditional remedies or superstitions in case of a snakebite. Instead, keep the patient calm and immediately transport them to the nearest health center for timely treatment. They also recommended caution while working in fields and bushy areas, as the initial hours after a snakebite are crucial, and prompt medical attention can prevent serious complications.
