A wedding celebration in Khagaria district, Bihar, turned into a tragedy when the bride's brother died of electrocution. The heart-wrenching incident occurred as the sister was taking her wedding vows, while simultaneously, her brother's post-mortem was being conducted. According to reports, 22-year-old Ravi Kumar, a resident of Itmadi Panchayat in Beldaur block of Khagaria district, was serving breakfast to the wedding guests at his sister's marriage. During this, he came into contact with a live electrical wire and suffered a severe electric shock. Ravi was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The news of Ravi's death instantly transformed the festive atmosphere of the wedding into one of mourning. The bride's family was engulfed in sorrow. While the sister was entering the sacred bond of marriage, her brother's body lay in the hospital for post-mortem. The joyous occasion of the farewell (vidai) turned into a somber event, and a wave of grief swept through the entire village.
